Location

Pleasington has a distinctly semi rural atmosphere as it is surrounded by unspoilt countryside. It is hard to imagine that you are within 2 miles of Blackburn and so convenient for several east/central Lancashire motorways [M6, M65, M61 & M55]. The village itself is within the countryside which extends right around south west Blackburn. Perhaps its most well known focal point is Pleasington Golf Course, widely renowned as one of the finest inland courses in the north of England and a current Open Championship qualifying venue. Pleasington Priory is a listed landmark and the village boasts a total of three ‘watering holes’, The Railway Hotel, The Butlers Arms and the Clog and Billycock [ currently undergoing refurbishment]. Pleasington has its own railway station with regular services between Blackburn and Preston [for the West Coast main line]. Several schools, most notably Westholme and Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School, are also located on the west side of Blackburn.

Directions

From Blackburn centre:- Proceed out along the A677 [Preston New Road] for 1 mile to Billinge End traffic lights. Turn left along Billinge End Road and 'Little Acre' is on the right hand side after approximately 0.75 miles [just after the Pleasington village boundary sign].
