Full description

This is a fantastic riverine wood. Mixed broadleaves including oak, ash, willow and poplar have been planted with commercial conifers higher up the slopes.
This is a fascinating riverine wood with species adjacent to the river being subject to the occasional dampening common on land alongside a river of this size.

Mixed broadleaves including oak, ash, willow and poplar have been planted to make best use of the soil according to its condition. In some places the wood is relatively steep but this has caused the trees to hasten their growth and as a result some of the trees are unusually tall. The result of the wide and varied stocking is a wood which gives plenty of flexibility for harvesting and thinning. Higher up the slopes there are commercial conifers which are mainly Corsican pine which should be able to contribute to timber income at the appropriate time.

Access to this wood is by way of the track ABC, DE, and FGH. The main reason for this propensity of access routes is the fact that the river only has pedestrian crossing points. All of these rights of way are for all purposes but they are all subject to rights in favour of neighbouring land.
