4 bedroom detached house for sale

By Kirknewton, West Lothian

Under Offer £370,000

Property Description

Full description

Tenure: Freehold

Wester Causewayend House dates back to the early 1700's and has been extended and altered over the years to create the lovely home that can be seen today. The property is built of stone beneath a slate roof and many original features are in evidence, including 4-pane sash and case windows, carved stone surrounding the front door and an engraved marriage stone dated 1739.

Internally the accommodation comprises well proportioned bright rooms, many of which have lovely open views over the surrounding countryside and Pentland Hills beyond.   The layout of the property makes it an ideal family home with ample room to spread throughout the house. The heart of the home is the large farmhouse kitchen which has bespoke fitted units with wood and granite worktops. The large yet cosy sitting room is ideal for quiet family nights or formal entertaining. Also on the ground floor there is a good sized master bedroom with en suite and walk-in store and bedroom 5/study.

A lovely curved stone staircase gives access to the first floor where there are a further three bedrooms and a bathroom.

We understand that an application for a windfarm of approximately 20 turbines is likely to be submitted to planning soon. It would be 1 1/2 to 2 miles west of the property and roughly parallel to the front of the building. We do not believe that it is going to be visible from inside the house or the back garden.
