he site has pleasant surroundings in the village of Normanton on Trent situated approximately 12 miles from Newark with easy access to the A1 and well within commuting distance of Nottingham and Lincoln. The site has green surrounds and the village character is generally all period property. Certainly over the years development has been restricted in this village and there have been no major housing estates built. The village is approached by country lanes from Sutton on Trent, Tuxford and from the A57 South from Ragnall. The site will be accessed by two private drives and the proposed barn conversion is a central feature of the scheme. Chestnut House which is currently rented is within the ownership and control of the vendors.
Normanton on Trent has a primary school; secondary schooling is generally at Tuxford with both schools enjoying an excellent reputation. Although a relatively small village there are two pubs. Facilities at Sutton on Trent (4 miles) include a doctor's surgery, Co-operative store, family butcher, hairdressers and library. There is also a good range of amenities in the small market town of Tuxford.
