He and his wife Sabiha believe a home is for enjoying - and they love nothing more than sharing their cutting edge minimalist Huf Haus with friends.
Today their breathtaking home has five bedrooms, four reception rooms and a fabulous leisure complex, complete with infinity pool, steam room and gym. It also has a separate one bedroom annexe.
We love open plan homes that we can walk about and feel around us, he explained. We both also believe homes are for enjoying and sharing with friends. We built this home with intention of having lots of people in it, and we often have well in excess of 150 here.
It was in 2005 that the couple first came to look at the site. Rizz remembers how it was snowing, and the gardens looked like a picture postcard.
The old garden had curved paths and round flowerbeds. We loved it and decided to buy the house, he recalled.
But after his plans to extend the existing home were rejected, he and Sabiha decided to move in a completely different direction.
I saw a Huf Haus and found the whole idea of building one here completely intriguing. The style was absolutely fantastic and I knew how good the German building work would be, he said. These houses are amazing. And they feel just as great in the winter as in the summer.
LIGHT AND OPEN
The planners came on board too and soon the old bungalow-style home was taken down and the new house arrived from Germany ready to be put together on site.
It was everything we hoped it would be - light, open and very beautiful, he said.
As well as incorporating open family and guest areas, the house was designed to ensure everyone had their own spaces.
I love my pool and spa area - that is where I go to unwind, he said. I also have my own living room where I can relax quietly.
He went on: My wife loves her kitchen. She also likes the bedroom, with its bathroom and walk-in wardrobe, where she can keep all her handbags and shoes.
The children have their own reception room, where they can play on their games consoles, use computers and watch television.
We also have an office room next to it, where they can do their homework or I can work, he said.
The dining area has a double height ceiling, and doors that lead out onto a terrace where guests can enjoy evening drinks.
The flow through the house and out into the garden makes entertaining easy, with a number of glass doors allowing the house to open up beautifully on to its garden.
The expert advice of an interior designer helped the couple bring the various spaces together. Upstairs and down, the house now blends the simple and contemporary with the more opulent.
We have enjoyed being here so much, said Rizz. Although after building the Huf Haus, we did realise it did not work very well within the old garden we had been so attracted to, so we had it re-landscaped to fit in.
He went on: We love this house so much that when we are away, we often feel like we just want to come home!
If we could build this all again when we move, then we would.

We love being outside. We have recently ordered some new loungers for the terrace, he said.
The house is great for entertaining and there is plenty of space both inside and out.
In the summer, we are outside a lot with friends. When we have big parties there is room to set up a number of tables on the lawn.
There is also a fabulous leisure complex with an infinity pool and steam room, a haven in which to relax and unwind.
WITHIN EASY REACH
Emerson Park is located close to Hornchurch which offers a verity of shops and boutiques along with a diverse range of restaurants and bars. There are excellent schools in the area including Coopers and Gidea Park College.
I think this is probably one of the best places to live in Emerson Park, said Rizz. It is on the east side of London, and it is very easy to get into the city from here.
For day to day needs there is a Tesco extra located at Gallows Corner where you will also find a small industrial park.
Emerson Park is within easy reach of Stansted Airport and there are great train services to London Liverpool Street.
The A127, A12 and M11 are all close by, while the Lakeside and Bluewater shopping centres are not far away.
I work in the East End, and it takes me about 20 to 25 minutes to get to work.
The M25 and Gatwick Airport can also be accessed easily.
From the Gallows Corner roundabout proceed down the A127 towards Southend. At the first set of traffic lights turn right into Ardleigh Green Road. Take the second left, Nelmes Way and proceed straight along here. This will turn into Elm Grove and then into Nelmes Road. At the end, turn left onto Herbert Road where the property will be found about 200 yards on the left hand side.
