Bridge Farm - Owners insight
The current owners were looking for a period home with character and successfully moved into Bridge Farm during the autumn of 1998.
The owners owned a horse and two ponies, they fell in love with Bridge Farm due to the relationship between the main living accommodation and the stables. In addition to this they were pleased that the property neighboured onto the Great Oakley Estate which occupies prime rural grounds with wonderful views.
We asked the owners about village life, “The Great Oakley Estate and Hall are the perfect neighbours”. Especially returning home from a busy work schedule to enjoy a peaceful and tranquil setting within a pretty corner of the Oakley Park! The estate maintains high standards within this area retaining natural heritage and conservation of the surrounding land.
This property has played an important part to village life over the years, interestingly the property was once owned by a miller whose windmill was situated on the road heading out towards Little Oakley. The fire place in the sitting room was once used as a “stick oven”, where the village community were invited to cook their Sunday roast!
