West Ldge Of Arngibbon, By Kippen
West Lodge is a painstakingly restored original stable block which was associated with Arngibbon House; a baronial style mansion built in 1863, and is set within an elevated position commanding spectacular views over the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park countryside, and offering an idyllic country lifestyle for its new purchaser.
West Lodge lies in an idyllic position for commuting to Stirling as well as Glasgow and further afield there is Loch Lomond and further opportunities for outdoor pursuits at the Port of Menteith and the Gleneagles Hotel, which is further to the north, some twenty nine miles away.
The property is accessed from just outside the village of Arnprior through a private gated entry and up a sweeping private road through electric gates, and from there into a courtyard. The accommodation itself comprises in full of kitchen into open plan lounge/dining area stretching 59'10 x 17'7, with the lounge area giving double door access out onto the garden grounds and the dining area giving further access out onto the courtyard. The family living area also has two staircases at adjacent ends; a feature spiral staircase giving access directly into bedroom two, and a staircase at the other end giving access onto an upper landing and from there directly into bedrooms one and three. All of the bedrooms upstairs are of double size and all have en suite shower rooms.
In addition the property is double glazed and warmth is provided by oil heating.
As previously mentioned the property is accessed by a private road just outside the village of Arnprior. Arnprior itself is a small village with a nursery, hairdresser and garage. Kippen which is approximately two miles away is a sought after residential village with a primary school, two popular inns and a general store. There are secondary schools at Stirling and Balfron. Public schools in the area include Beaconhurst at Bridge of Allan and the well renowned Dollar Academy. Bridge of Allan is also the home of Stirling University which has a sports centre and the MacRoberts Art Centre with a theatre and cinema. Stirling is the major town of central Scotland and provides a full range of shops, schools and services, including supermarkets, the Thistle Marches Shopping Centre, a multiplex cinema and a swimming pool. West Lodge is set in open countryside and is easily accessible. The motorway network is only a few miles to the east with the M80 giving access to Glasgow and the M9 to Edinburgh. Glasgow can also be reached via the A81 through Strathblane and Milngavie which also has a mainline rail station. Edinburgh Airport is forty five miles away via the M9 and has regular services to London as well as services to a wide range of domestic and international destinations. Glasgow Airport is also easily accessed from the House through the A81 and connecting up and over the Erskine Bridge.
