Situation

The property lies at the heart of this popular Downland village, just a few miles to the north of Chichester and ideally situated for access to many of the county's leisure and cultural facilities.   The internationally known Festival Theatre lies just over a mile away in Oakland Park, and there are views from the house itself over the neighbouring South Downs National Park as far as Trundle Hill and Goodwood Racecourse.   Goodwood has become a particular centre of attraction in the immediate area, providing also a private country club, its already internationally known racecourse together with its private airfield and racetrack, now home to the Revival of its historic motor circuit and the annual Festival of Speed.   To the south, the waters of Chichester Harbour and The Solent provide some of the best sailing facilities within convenient travelling distance of London.   Sailing clubs are located at Bosham, Itchenor, West Wittering and at Chichester Marina at Birdham.   The coastline also has many attractions including the National Trust Reserve at East Head with its famous sandy beaches, and the adjacent coastline of East Wittering and Bracklesham Bay has now become popular with windsurfers, kitesurfers and more recently landboarders.   The rich countryside of the South Downs National Park is home to many picturesque villages and hamlets, many with pretty country pubs.   The numerous footpaths and bridle paths provide many opportunities for walking, riding and mountain biking.
