Fryerning is surrounded by a wealth of Green Belt, farmland, ancient hedgerows and woodland and the area retains a distinctly rural atmosphere despite its convenient location between Ingatestone, Shenfield and Chelmsford and its excellent rail and road links into London.
Fryerning itself is renowned for having one of the most exclusive postcodes in Essex and boasts no less than three public houses of note; The Cricketers, The Viper and The Woolpack. Neighbouring Ingatestone, just one mile away, is the larger of the two villages and has a wide range of amenities, including numerous shops, a doctor's surgery, library, post office and a railway station on the mainline into London Liverpool Street. Chelmsford to the north offers a cosmopolitan pedestrian shopping centre, a wide variety of restaurants and recreational facilities. There is an excellent choice of both state and private schools including Anglo European, Brentwood School, St. Martins, King Edward Grammar School, Chelmsford County High School for girls, New Hall and Felsted, all within driving distance.
Mill Bank occupies a very private setting at the end of a long tree lined drive and cannot be seen from the road. The plot which includes many mature trees extends to 4.23 acres and incorporates a tennis court, swimming pool, cart lodge style garaging with garden store.
The highly attractive house extends to 6860 sq ft and has been designed so that the principal reception rooms and bedrooms face south overlooking the majority of the grounds.
(From Ingatestone village centre)
Proceed into Fryerning Lane and over the A12. At the top of the road is a triangular green with the Woolpack pub ahead of you. Turn right passing the village hall on the left and continue taking the next turning on the left into Beggar Hill. Mill Bank will be found on the right hand side after approximately 0.25 of a mile denoted by a timber five bar gate and an open field to the left hand side of the drive.
