History Of The Building

The building does have an interesting and widespread history. It was known locally as Davies Folly after Thomas Davies who built the property. The main wing of the building is said to be commissioned in 1897 by Edward Prince of Wales. The interior features of the building are mainly in the Scottish Baronial style and still includes some fine examples of feature stained glass windows. The castle has existed as many things in it's wide history as well as being used for a private house, school, a military hospital in the first world war, hotel and then from 1931 it was used by the Methodist Church as a retreat for the members. This grand building was developed in 2006 and is now known locally as Bodlondeb Castle.

Directions

From our office in Madoc Street, Llandudno turn right and proceed towards the end of this road. Continue straight ahead at the road junction passing over Lloyd Street into Chapel Street. At the top of Chapel Street continue ahead over the mini roundabout to the end of Arvon Ave. Turn right and then left into Church Walks. Bodlondeb Castle can be found just after the Tram Station on your right hand side.
