Cedar View is situated in an elevated south facing position with views across Loch Earn to Edinample Castle, and the two Munros Ben Vorlich and Stuc a Chroin beyond. The view is forever changing with natural interest in all the four seasons as well as the movement, during the summer months, of boats and a small seaplane craft on the loch.

The village of Lochearnhead has a shop and post office which cater for every day needs and requirements. The village also has two hotels both with bars and restaurants as well as a watersports centre with a café. As with Lochearnhead, St Fillans (7 miles) is a popular holiday destination and has a selection of hotels and pubs. Killin (8 miles), Callander (14 miles) and Crieff (19 miles) all have supermarkets and a further extensive range of shops, cafes, restaurants, banks and local professional services. Stirling (30 miles) and Perth (36 miles) offer a more comprehensive range of shops, professional services and communication links. Trains run regularly from both Perth and Stirling to Glasgow, Edinburgh and London. Both Glasgow and Edinburgh are easily accessible by car being only 57 and 68 miles away respectively.

Cedar View is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. The area is renowned for its stunning scenery, associated wildlife sightings such as red squirrels and osprey and the opportunities it offers the outdoor enthusiast.

Lochearnhead lies at the western end of Loch Earn. Loch Earn is a centre for outdoor activities - fishing, golf, hill walking, cycling and water sports such as water skiing, canoeing and sailing.

There is a primary school in nearby Strathyre (transport provided), with high schools in Callander and Crieff. The area has a range of reputable independent schools which include Glenalmond, Morrisons Academy, Ardvreck, Craigclowan, Kilgraston and Strathallan.
