91 Dalhowan Street is a charming semi detached stone built period cottage, located in one of Ayrshire's most sought after rural villages of Crosshill. The village stands on the left bank of Girvan Water, 3 miles South East of Maybole, chiefly consisting of a long regular row of one-story houses, running at right angles from the river. It has a post office under Maybole, a principal inn and an Established church.
The property itself is positioned at the far end of Dalhowan Street with nothing but the rolling hills to the front of the property and a very green backdrop to the rear behind the slightly elevated gardens. Externally there is off street parking accessed via an attractive cobbled driveway, suitable for several cars and culminating in a single detached stone built garage with adjoining workshop.
Internally the current long standing owners have upgraded the property to an exceptional standard, restoring many of the period cottage features including the refurb of the internal stone walls, internal doors and architraves, installation of new solid wood sash windows and a blend of modern features and finishes perfectly compliment this stunning family home. The apartments within the home include the front facing lounge, with beautiful feature stone fireplace, with inset wood burning stove, modern kitchen with units in a beach finish, built in pantry and ample space to accommodate a family sized dining table. From the kitchen there is a utility room and to the rear of the property is the second bedroom. Within the rear portion of the home there is an additional shower room. There is a further double bedroom located on this level and family bathroom comprising w.c, wash hand basin and bath with electric shower above, chrome towel rail and feature fireplace with wood burner. A staircase from the hall leads to the first floor where the master bedroom is located, with splendid views over the extensive rear garden. Also on this level is an open plan landing area which could be utilised as a study.
Externally, the rear gardens have been meticulously cared for and extend to a large sweeping lawn, with slabbed patio, bordered by shrubs, mature trees and hedging. There is a garage and adjoining workshop, greenhouse, garden shed and additional separate workshop. The heating system is provided by an oil fired Worcester combi boiler, located within a coal shed attached to the rear of the property. The property is mostly double glazed with the exception of the feature bathroom stained glass window.
