Introduction
Home Farm Fishery was established in 2001 and originally constructed as a commercial fish farm for the breeding of primarily koi carp. The fishery has been in the same ownership since 2000 and has been restored and developed into a very attractive popular and profitable commercial coarse fishery with a particular emphasis on specimen catfish.

The fishery is located close to the town of Alsager approximately 2.5 miles from Junction 16 of the M6. Crewe 7 miles, Stoke on Trent 10 miles, Manchester 35 miles, Chester 31 miles,

The Fishery
Extending to approximately 6.4 acres (2.6 ha) with three lakes, a canal and a facilities building.

Specimen Lake
Extending to approximately 1.6 acres (0.6 ha) with a maximum depth of 6ft. The Specimen Lake is stocked with catfish 65lbs plus, carp up to 29lbs, perch 5lbs and koi carp 14lbs. The Specimen Lake has the benefit of 5 purpose built cabins, 20 pegs, a number of islands and established lily pads. The lake is well screened providing shelter to visiting anglers.
Wells catfish were introduced in 2003 with an original stocking of 81 catfish primarily from Burton Mere. The current catfish record is 65lbs.

Match Lake
Extending to approximately 1.3 acres (0.5 ha) with a maximum depth of 5ft. The lake has the benefit of 40 pegs. The Match Lake is stocked with 16 different species of coarse fish including tench, chub, barbel, carp, ide and bream.

Canal
Extending to approximately 0.1 acres (0.05 ha) with an average depth of 3ft. Originally constructed for junior match fishing the Canal is an ideal stock pond.

Junior Pond
Extending to approximately 0.1 acres (0.05 ha), an established pond originally constructed for children’s fishing, but with the potential to be used as a stock pond. The pond is stocked with carp, roach, perch and bream. All the lakes are fed via ground water and natural drainage. The fishery has the benefit of a hard surface car park between a railway line and the main access gates.

Facilities Building
A single storey building of timber construction with a floor area of approximately 32m2. Located between the two lakes adjacent to the main access and car parking. The building is utilised as a bait and tackle shop, together with fisherman’s toilet and shower room and additional storage.

Services
The fishery is connected to mains water and electricity. Electricity is connected to all the cabins located around the Specimen Lake.

The Business
The business currently trades as Home Farm Fishery Limited and employs a full-time fishery manager. The business is based on the sale of day tickets. Accounts for the year ending 31st March 2014 show a turnover of £53,873. Full accounts are available after viewing.
