Full description

This property is a wonderful, historic home, underscored by its Grade II status, so warm and homely. The welcoming entrance hall draws you in and is a foretaste of what’s to come, so much character, rustic historic beams are a connecting theme throughout, adding to the ambience and atmosphere of the home.

Once inside you get a feeling of being relaxed as if you are away from it all, particularly imagine yourself stretching out in the lounge in front of a crackling log fire adding a warm glow emanating from the pretty Inglenook fireplace. Enhanced by the superb views over Cobdown with its trickling stream, picturesque Oast houses, and of course the impressive Willow tree from which the cottage takes its name. Steeped in history with no doubt many a story to tell the owners tell us, they understand it was originally a fifteenth century Inn and the basement used to be full of beer barrels and wine!

There is a lovely enclosed outdoor space to enjoy, privacy and seclusion await you nestling within attractive high brick walling, characterized by a mature Bay tree and pretty planting and landscaped in such way as to tempt you outside at every opportunity, enhanced by outside lighting and seating space. You really do have the best of all worlds here, you get the happy mix of the character cottage you would normally only find in remote countryside, yet you have easy parking and fantastic connections to motorways and rail stations, shops, banks and more!

What the Owner says:

We love our Period home, it is just so full of character, lots of original beams and a gorgeous inglenook fireplace in the lounge.

We came in to our home with a view to it being our home for life and have lavished upon it a tremendous amount of care and effort, not to mention money, to really make it a wonderful home.

Originally it had three bedrooms, and we altered one to give us a luxury bathroom, which suits us perfectly, but could so easily be altered back if it would better suit your lifestyle. One improvement we have really enjoyed here is the wonderful basement room, again so much character and it is very atmospheric.
