Outside Yew Tree House benefits from two vehicular accesses from Shrubbery Road. The main access, to the north of the property, leads to the front of the house where there is a pea shingled parking and turning area together with a wrought iron gate which provides pedestrian access to the rear. The drive continues around the property, flanked by a raised border with a dwarf brick retaining wall housing a variety of mature trees and shrubs, and this leads on to the cobbled courtyard at the rear.
The courtyard is surrounded by a variety of outbuildings. There are the two former staff cottages, which now provide ancillary storage, the coal and wood store as well as the former stabling and coach house; the latter of which is used as garaging. Many of the lovely original features remain in most of these buildings including the brick flooring and the stable partitioning.
Steps from the courtyard lead down to a paved walkway and onto the rear entrance porch, kitchen and former kitchen, 155 x 14 (4.7m x 4.27m) which still has the bread oven, pamment tile flooring and connecting door through to the scullery. There is also a covered pathway through to the rear garden.
A wooden gate from the walkway leads round to the Annexe and the Old Dairy; an hexagonal building with pretty stained glass windows, slate worksurface and part tiled flooring with louvered vents and a vaulted ceiling.
The alternative entrance to Yew Tree House is via another pea shingled drive and five bar gate which leads to the aforementioned courtyard. This drive continues, flanked by a paddock (approximately 0.65 acres) to the south which is enclosed by wrought iron fencing, to a second courtyard located to the rear of the stabling and coach house, where there is an additional range of stabling and stores.
The majority of the gardens and grounds lie to the west of Yew Tree House. The formal gardens are mainly laid to lawn, but separated from the main house by a peashingle and paved terrace together with mature borders containing a variety of established roses and shrubs.
Steps from the lawn lead down to the former rose garden; a previously landscaped area comprising circular borders planted with established roses. Beyond this area of garden is the kitchen garden, beside which is the large pond which borders the parkland. In all, the formal gardens and grounds surrounding Yew Tree House extend to approximately 3½ acres.
The parkland and grazing is located to the west of Yew Tree House and this area benefits from vehicular access via the rear courtyard. This is laid to pasture but interspersed with a handful of mature trees, namely oak and pine, and continues all the way to the Grundisburgh Road. In all, this pasture extends to approximately 8 acres. Continuing along Shrubbery Road, adjoining the property, is an additional paddock with water supply. This area extends to just over 3 acres. In all Yew Tree House extends to approximately 15½ acres.
