Choosing a home carefully for the right reasons means you'll stay and be happy. 11 years on and the owners of this wonderful house know they made a great choice.
'We bought it off plan and it was one of the more expensive of the homes on this small development but we knew how much difference the extra space would make to our family'.
That space is evident as soon as you open the front door and step into the lovely big hallway with staircase that sweeps up to a galleried landing. It beautifully sets the scene and you'll be impressed whether you step through the double doors to that glorious dining room, wander into the living room that seems to swallow furniture or head for the brilliant kitchen, 'it's such a great space being almost square, we put the breakfast bar in and use it all the time, it makes a great place to relax and chat over a tea or coffee'.
Upstairs the master bedroom continues the wow, it's a fabulous size with an ensuite bathroom and built in wardrobes. The family bathroom also sports a large walk in shower and the remaining bedrooms fulfil their purpose admirably.
Back downstairs you¿ll find a utility room tucked out of sight with cloakroom beside. 'We use the garage as an office and now occasional gym room. There's plenty of room for our cars on the drive, we made sure of that and we made the room useable. If you want the garage back it's easy to do.
For the owners busy working lives mean down time is limited so they kept the split level garden as low maintenance as possible. The upper area is great, paved across it makes for a wonderful patio and outdoor dining area. 'It's brilliant just throwing open the French doors from the living room and there is the seating area.' The lower part of the garden was for the kids to kick a ball around and for 'Ella' their dog. It works perfectly, the main shed is out of the way and out of sight and there's a lovely sun trap area of patio there too.
When we asked them why they chose this home over others they saw it turned out to have been a fairly easy choice. ¿The accommodation we would get here in comparison to many homes we looked at instantly caught our eye but more than that it had to be convenient. We both travel a lot around Kent, London and sometimes further afield for our respective careers, this was such a simple place to get to and from and it meant when we came home we had lovely countryside by us and brilliant dog walks.¿
Take a stroll down to the station in the morning and catch a train to Rochester or Maidstone if you want, jump in the car and Ebbs Fleet is under 11 miles. The village primary school is within walking distance which saves a lot of running around plus the village Co-Op is excellent, the fresh pastries are fabulous (we can confirm that one too!). ¿We're less than 3 miles from Cobham and it's so easy to pop along to one of our favourite pubs, The Leather Bottle, for a spot of Sunday lunch or catch up with a few friends there of an evening if we want a change of pace.¿
¿The kids are grown and new opportunities beckon so now is the right time to move from a home that has done so much for us. We¿ve had fabulous Christmas¿ around the dining table and lovely summers on the patio, plenty of great memories to take with us.¿
