4 bedroom property for sale
The Warren, Polperro, Cornwall, PL13
- 1 or 2 Receptions
- 3 or 4 Bedrooms
- 4 Bath/Shower Rooms (3 En-Suite)
- Enclosed Verandah
Directly overlooking the harbour mouth, with one of the most astounding outlooks available on the Cornish Coastline, an attached house dating from 1923, and delightfully presented. 1 or 2 receptions, 3 or 4 bedrooms, 4 bath/shower rooms (3 en-suite), enclosed verandah, terrace, garden.
Set on a south facing hillside directly overlooking the harbour mouth and commanding a view that encompasses open sea, fabulous coastline, a small beach, the harbour wall and the intertwined streets of this extraordinary village, The Watchers has a truly captivating position. The aspect is totally distracting with constant activity provided by both pleasure craft and a working fishing fleet all directly in front and below the property. This position must be one of the most astounding available on the South West coastline. The Cornwall South Coast Path runs close to the property and there is an almost level walk from here into the centre of the village with its variety of small shops, restaurants, pubs and other facilities. Polperro is one of the most picturesque coastal villages in Cornwall with its deep sided valleys and myriad of colour washed cottages and slate roofs. The River Pol runs centrally down through the village, straddled by a variety of bridges and cottages. Access is limited with most vehicles parking at the car park on the edge of Polperro, with a shuttle service by minibus into the centre.
The nearby town of Looe, renowned for its deep sea fishing industry, is about four miles away and provides a further range of facilities. From here there is a branch railway line linking to Liskeard on the Penzance to Paddington line. Access to Plymouth is via the A38 and the Tamar Bridge, with an average travelling time of about forty five minutes by road. Plymouth is a large, vibrant, city with a large modern shopping centre, historic waterfront, the Theatre Royal, The Hoe, University and continental ferryport with links to Brittany and Northern Spain.
The house is semi detached and as a pair it is understood it was designed in connection with the substantial house named Seaways nearby, in about 1923. Both internally and externally this building has exceptional style and architectural interest, the latter with a strongly Mediterranean influence.
The delightful interior has undergone many improvements over the years by the current owners, who have been in residence for over forty years. A contemporary approach has been taken with regard to decoration and fitting which is now to high standard, and all four bedrooms have en suite facilities.

Access to the property is limited as the centre of Polperro is traffic free and the narrow road of The Warren is inaccessible for all but very narrow vehicles. It is recommended that parking is in the main public car park and then from here either walk or use the shuttle bus service into the centre of the village. At the point where the principal road bears to the right, continue straight on and then bear right into The Warren at the junction with Talland Hill. Pass The Heritage Museum on the right hand side and continue, passing numerous other cottages and shortly after the road starts to rise uphill the property will be found on the left hand side overlooking the outer harbour and the beach.
