There is a mainline rail station in Tarbet and local train stations at Helensburgh (16 miles) and Balloch (20 miles).

Morelaggan is situated within the protected Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park and the area is world famous for its dramatic natural scenic beauty.

The locality offers an extensive range of outdoor and leisure opportunities. For golf enthusiasts the acclaimed Loch Lomond golf club and the Carrick Golf Club and Spa are both about 14 miles down the loch-side. The lochside has some of the most scenic and challenging walks and hill climbs in Scotland. The loch offers inland sailing and boating opportunities. Fishing is possible by permit on the loch and some of the surrounding rivers.

Some of the local estates can, by prior arrangement, offer stalking, grouse and pheasant shooting.

Coastal sailing is available on the Firth of Clyde, it is possible to moor a boat by permission at Arrochar and there are marina and chandlery services available at Rhu (16 miles).
