News & Things, Sheep Street is an impressive Grade II Listed, semi-detached property sat in the heart of this popular Oxfordshire conservation village.
Laid out over four floors and occupying over 3000 sq ft of accommodation, the Georgian property, believed to date back to the mid 17th century, has been granted change of use for conversion from a newsagent into a residential dwelling.
At present the shop and its storage occupies the ground floor with two three-bedroom flats on the first and second floors and a cellar.
Planning permission and listed buildings consent has been granted to add an extension to the rear and create a large family home briefly comprising 3 reception rooms, 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
Ground floor accommodation to comprise an entrance lobby, large sitting room, dining room, kitchen/breakfast room, utility room and cloakroom. First floor with three bedrooms and two bathrooms (1 en-suite). Second floor with 2 further bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (1 en-suite) and a study/bedroom 6.
Of stone construction under a slate tile roof, the property has retained some of its original features (hidden by shop paraphernalia) including a large inglenook fireplace and an original Georgian fireplace, both on the ground floor. The original sash windows, although in need of repair, create the dolls house appearance to the front of the property and with good ceiling height throughout, the space offers a large footprint off which to work.
Externally the walled garden is predominantly laid to lawn with a small terrace, raised flowerbeds and established trees and shrubs. There is the footprint of what was a two storey dwelling, which has lapsed planning permission to build an office but could be suitable as a granny flat subject to planning. Wooden gates give access to the road.
This property offers the prospective purchaser the chance to create a large family home within the walls of an historical building in an enviable location.
