1515 metres or thereabouts of single bank Fishing Rights offered for sale on the River Carey. The rights are over an attractive stretch of the River Carey, running on the southern (left hand) bank from Heale Bridge down to the junction with the River Tamar. This section of the River Carey offers a variety of water, with plenty of riffle water, shallow runs, whilst also providing deeper pools and some meandering bends.

This section of the River Carey also benefits from the confluence water joining the River Tamar. The River Carey is one of the tributaries feeding the River Tamar system. The River Carey has historically been a productive tributary of the River Tamar, which is a well-known salmon and sea trout river in the South West. The River Carey is renowned for its trout and grayling fishing. Reports suggest that the catch records can be good, with a healthy number of fish per visit and of a reasonable size - the largest trout size is apparently 10" to 11" and grayling up to 1lb. The River Carey occasionally rewards anglers with sea trout, salmon and grayling.

Season
The salmon season runs from 1st March to 14th October, trout from 15th March to 30th September and grayling 16th June to 14th March each year.

Access
The Fishing Rights are accessed from the public highway next to Heale Bridge. The entire length is easily accessible on foot from the adjacent farmland. During typical weather and river conditions, the river is wadable along most sections, which helps provide access to some river bank positions along the length.

We understand that the beat has been fished very lightly and the catch records reflect this as follows:
• 2014 - 10 Trout
• 2013 - 33 Trout
• 2012 - 39 Trout and 3 Grayling

We also believe that Salmon have been caught, especially at the mouth of the River Carey, but such catches have been included in other records so are not available.

Tenure
The fishing rights are subject to a lease to the Arundel Arms in Lifton which expires on 29 November 2016 when vacant possession will be given. In the meantime, the owner benefits from a right for him and an invitee to fish the river at all times during the season.
