Full description

Attractive grade II listed 1880 built home on York Road. The accommodation on the ground floor comprises kitchen with log burner, marble worktop, Belfast sink and oak flooring, downstairs bathroom and separate w/c. On the first floor is a living room with fireplace, sash window with shutters, stripped floors and a room perfect for an office. On the second floor is the master bedroom with room adjacent which is currently used as a cot room and has potential for an additional bathroom.

On the third floor are two further bedrooms which benefit from far reaching views towards the city centre and beyond. Externally the property has a pretty and secluded south facing courtyard garden at the front and small terrace at the rear while internally 125 York Road has plenty of charm and character.

Vendor's comments - "As soon as you enter through the gate into the front garden there is a magical feeling and the property feels like its own little world. It feels like a quiet retreat yet it is very much in the heart of the city.

We loved the covered outdoor area and being able to eat and drink outside and used it throughout the year and especially during the warmer months it feels like having an extra room outside-perfect for dinner parties and passing the food through the open window.

People have always enjoyed visiting and staying at the house and found it be a warm house with a special atmosphere. Another aspect that we will miss is the way that the light streams through the windows in the morning and daytime and also the incredible views over Bristol and to the countryside beyond which get more amazing with each floor. As there is a gap between the houses opposite the house is not overlooked and we found it to be very private.

We will miss the high ceilings and spacious feeling of the property. There are many period features and other quirky charms that can be found in the house which we have always done our best to preserve and enhance. We recently replaced a gas fire with a multifuel burner in the kitchen which is wonderful in the winter to have a real log fire. It is a unique and special house and we hope the next owners are very happy and feel truly at home."
