Full description

Tenure: Freehold

Behind the Georgian facade of The Beacons is a farmhouse dating back to the 18th century, which retains many of its original period features. It has adapted well to its present function of an hotel trading in the bed and breakfast market. As well as fourteen letting bedrooms, there are three rooms on the third floor which have been owners' accommodation, a large barn to the side with lapsed planning permission for conversion to six extra bedrooms, and a second barn to the rear which could convert to more rooms or a separate cottage, subject to the necessary consents.

This is an easy to run B&B operation and it is estimated that 80% of the guests of The Beacons are tourists or visitors to the area, be they walkers, cyclists or families visiting or Christ College Public School which is opposite. The town is of course famous for its location in the Brecon Beacons, which attracts thousands of visitors throughout the year.

Our clients bought the Beacons in 2001, seeing it as the perfect business to combine with part time work. This it has proved to be, funding their purchase of an adjoining house, and taking their children through private school. Having achieved their purposes, and after almost 15 years at the helm the owners feel ready to move on leaving any further development to their successors.

There is a snug Residents' Bar (I don't remember this room from our walk around I confess, but it is on the plan ..) , On the other side of the hall are 2 Dining Rooms, the main room with 24 covers and the second with 20 covers. There are fireplaces in both rooms.
