When I found this plot of land 36 years ago the Great Chart bypass didn't exist. The farmer had already been granted planning permission so it was a case of sitting down with a local architect to design our perfect family home. We wanted the rooms to be a good size and the whole house to have a spacious feel to it. All the walls are solid and thick and the staircase, skirtings, doors and frames are all solid oak as is the kitchen with the exception being the fitted furniture in the main bedroom which is solid Cherry. The kitchen floor is Welsh slate and the bricks are Tunbridge Wealdons. In all honesty I can say that I am incredibly proud of this house and it really is a wonderful home which I hope a new family can enjoy as much as ours.
