Situated in the heart of the Arbury Hall Estate, this magnificent, period Manor House has masses of space and character. Dating back to the 1880's, Astley Manor offers considerable accommodation and has retained many of its original features.
Vendor Interview - This very handsome property, which was built in around 1880, sits in a gloriously rural location on the fringes of Astley village. Its such a unique property, and we both fell in love with it. We have gone on to have ten very happy years here.
Astley Manor is a home that is steeped in history, and its also a property that retains a great many extremely attractive original features. The main lounge and dining room both have beautifully detailed ceilings, says Jo, and there is a lot of ornate cornicing throughout the house.
The current owners have decorated and furnished the property in a way that wonderfully complements the style of the house, creating a very luxurious, but at the same time very comfortable feel. The kitchen is a lovely big room, continues Jo. The beautiful bespoke units were here when we bought the property, but we did take out the island to give it a much more open feel. At the back of the kitchen is a door that opens out onto a pretty courtyard, the ideal place for alfresco dining on a warm summers day.
Astley Manor is surrounded by around two acres of beautiful grounds that include vast areas of lawn both front and back, a paddock and a sweeping driveway.
Although our setting feels incredibly rural, says Robin, we are actually only ten minutes away from Nuneaton and thirty minutes from Coventry, which is wonderful. We really do have the very best of both worlds here. The village is also very nice, adds Jo, and steeped in history. It is rumoured that Lady Jane Grey once stayed the night at the castle.
We shall definitely miss this house when we move, says Jo. It has been a really beautiful home.
