Full description

This light and spacious six bedroomed house with its stabling and annexe, the expansive eight acres of land on which it sits, the glorious views of Fenland farmland in this quiet rural spot make it a very desirable residence.

The entrance hall gives a taste of the space and size of the property; the well-crafted, natural timber, carpeted staircase rises up a reclaimed brick wall embedded with a hefty reclaimed timber which gives a rustic feel to the property. The country theme continues into the huge open plan kitchen/dining room at the back of the house with the same beam featuring prominently in the centre of the room. So too the spacious living room has a beautiful reclaimed brick inglenook fireplace housing a wood-burner under a timber mantel. All the internal doors are natural pine ledge and brace with cast iron latches and hinges in keeping with the homely feel.

Upstairs the dual aspect master bedroom is enormous with an en-suite and dressing area off it. All the bedrooms are very large, and two further ones have en-suites as well. There are family bathrooms on both floors, and on the landing there is access to lit, lined and carpeted loftspace running the whole length of the house.

The equestrian facilities are conveniently located to the left of the property accessed by a pedestrian gate, the five stables are of breeze block and render construction with pitched tile roofs. Three of the stables measure 12ft x 12ft, there are an additional two stables measuring 12ftx 10ft. There are tack and feed rooms serviced with electricity and water. There is a large gravelled area for horseboxes and further parking accessed via double gates from the road. Leading on from there is hard standing which leads to the Ménage which measures 60m x 20m with a silica sand surface enclosed by post and rail fencing with kick boards to approximately 1 meter high. The paddocks beyond are level and well drained and are also enclosed by post and rail fencing.
There is very good access to off road riding nearby. Nearby are a selection of tack and feed stores, equestrian centres and riding clubs.

Northolme sits two miles from the village of Gedney Hill which has a good primary school, a little shop and a church along with a listed windmill but no longer sporting its sails. Northolme is a fifteen minute drive from the city of Peterborough (with a direct rail link to London) for secondary schools, or state grammar schools in Spalding, or Holbeach Academy to the north or Wisbech Grammar to the east.
