I like to imagine those earlier owners witnessing the bonfires that warned of the Spanish Armada, and hearing about a new playwright called William Shakespeare. Originally the house consisted of two adjoining woodcutters’ cottages, each with just one room downstairs and one room above. The roof beams are made of elm, an indication of the houses antiquity. Over the years the house has been adapted and enlarged. The previous owner added a whole new two-bedroomed house in 1990.
