Kirkcudbright enjoys a sheltered location situated in the estuary of the River Dee and on the North
Solway shore. It is approximately 30 miles west of Dumfries and readily accessible to the M6/M74

Established as a Royal Burgh in 1455, Kirkcudbright has always been supported by a busy fishing trade.
