FULLY RENOVATED SPACIOUS PERIOD VILLAGE HOUSE SET IN MATURE ESTABLISHED GARDENS

Location

The White House is a well positioned house set in the heart of the village of Holbrook. The village is one of the most sought after in south Suffolk, located close to the rivers Stour and Orwell. There are good daily facilities within easy walking reach including 2 pubs, a doctors surgery, a butcher, a hairdresser, a well regarded Co-op supermarket and post office, church, school and a primary and secondary school within the village. Private schools in the area include Ipswich High School and the Royal Hospital School. There are more comprehensive educational, shopping and leisure amenities in Ipswich, Suffolk's county town.

Nearby are several well known sailing centres such as the Royal Harwich Yacht Club at Woolverstone and Pinmill and further water sports located at Alton Water which neighbours the village. The commuter can take advantage of Manningtree or Ipswich main line stations with journeys to London's Liverpool Street taking from 55 and 65 minutes respectively. There is also ready access to the A12 and A14 trunk-roads.

Description

The White House is well positioned in the centre of the village of Holbrook, set well back from the road accessed over a private gravelled driveway. The house is surrounded by mature trees and shrubs and is constructed predominantly from brick with painted rendered elevations under pitched peg tiled roofs. The house has great character with open fireplaces, decorative cornice work and, exposed wooden floors and French windows. The current owners have renovated and remodelled the house over the last year and it now provides well laid out, light and bright accommodation throughout. The master bedroom now benefits from a dressing room and spacious en suite bathroom.

Separate in and out gateways lead onto the drive, which circles the front lawn which is bordered by mature trees and shrubs. The gardens to the rear are a particular feature of the house with well stocked shaped borders, with many herbaceous plants, shrubs and trees. To one side lies the former coach house which has power and lighting connected and now comprises garaging, a workshop and store rooms with loft space above.

DIRECTIONS
From the A 14 take the turning signed Ipswich Central (A 137). Follow the road down the hill. At the roundabout follow the sign to Holbrook Shotley B1456 passing between Foxs Marina and Oyster Reach. Proceed under the bridge along the banks of the River Orwell. Continue up the hill past the Freston Boot Public House. As the road bears round to the left turn right on to the B1080 signed to Holbrook Village. Proceed into the village passing the High School on your right. The first entrance to The White House is on the right immediately after a large copper beech tree and then a fir tree. If you reach the centre of the village and the Compasses Public House you have gone too far.
