Description

Brynglas Hall is thought to originate from the 17th century whilst the main part of the property dates from about 1810. The house was originally part of a 1000 acre estate which was owned by a solicitor in the 1850's. The estate was then split up in 1893 with 70 acres retained until the 1940's. The house was also owned by The High Sheriff of Montgomery in 1867.

There are two Brynglas Halls in the area, but please note that this Brynglas Hall is not listed.

Brynglas Hall has retained many of its original features including sash windows with original working shutters, original floorboards, fireplaces and exposed beams. The current owners updated the property in 2008 offering a mix of period and contemporary acommodation whilst keeping the elegance and originality.

Brynglas Hall has an excellent balance of both formal and less formal rooms which flow particularly well. The entrance hall with original wood flooring has two archways and an elegant curved classically Georgian staircase rising to the first floor. The formal dining room has original beams and an inglenook brick fireplace with a woodburning stove. There is access to the utility room which has a butler's sink and built in cupboards and a WC.

The elegant drawing room has a floor to ceiling bay sash window overlooking the front driveway, along with a woodburning stove and French windows. Off the drawing room is the library/study.

The modern kitchen has slate flooring, a selection of units with solid oak worktops, central island with units, integrated freezer, a Belling range cooker with gas hob and electric oven and a two door AGA.

On the first floor is a landing area with a long sash window allowing in plenty of natural light.

The principal suite includes a bedroom with built in wardrobes, an en-suite bathroom with roll top bath and a dressing area. There are a further four bedrooms, 3 of which are doubles, one with en suite shower room and one with a dressing area, which has the potential to be an en-suite bathroom. There is also a family shower room.

Outside
Rhododendrons and mature trees flank the drive which gently rises up to the house. There is a gravel parking area in front of the house and a wider tarmac parking area to the side. There is a brick barn with an open bay parking area, along with two workshops and a log store. A large timber and stone barn also provides further storage and could, with the necessary planning, have potential for conversion.

The mature gardens and grounds of Brynglas Hall cover about 3 acres with aged Rhododendron trees which display an array of colour during the month of May. The gardens are mainly laid to lawn with mature beds and a copse. There is a viewing area which offers fantastic views over Llanfair Caereinion and across Snowdonia National Park.

Square Footage: 3,234 sq ft
