Situation
The village of Springfield is situated just outside the larger town of Cupar in the north east of Fife. This is a popular residential and tourist area with people working and living with 43 new builds in close by towns including Cupar, St. Andrews and the larger towns of Glenrothes, Dundee and Perth. Cupar itself is a bustling town that remains the natural centre of a large part of eastern Fife. Much of the bustle centres on the shopping streets where visitors will find a great variety of shops and eating places. The town is also experiencing major expansion with a large amount of new homes being built. The Springfield Tavern commands a prominent position on the main road that passes through the village of Springfield. In 2008 the population of the village will rise with new homes being built.

Description
The business has been owned by the current proprietors since 2005 and during this time it has been operated as a public bar and restaurant. The business is open 7 days a week all year round although the business is closed for Monday lunch. General opening hours are Monday evening, Tuesday through to Thursday there is a lunchtime opening, closing after lunch and then the bar only is open again from 6pm. On Fridays and Saturdays, the business is open all day from 11.00am — 1.00am and Sundays 12.30pm — 11.00pm.

There is obvious potential here for new owners to develop the business further, most notably by opening the restaurant on week nights Monday - Thursday. The business is run by a husband and wife team along with 3 part time members of staff. The business is patronised by a wide variety of local custom and also people from surrounding towns including Cupar. There is an enticing and value for money lunch/dinner menu on offer, a darts league on Monday nights and live music every Thursday night with the highly popular bothy music every second Thursday.
