Situation
Tradewinds has an excellent situation set on high ground above Loch Awe and has superb views over the loch and to the mountains beyond.

Loch Awe is one of Scotland's most spectacular lochs. It is 25 miles long and runs from the village of Loch Awe to Ford near the west coast to the south. Kilchurn Castle is a dramatic ruin, and one of Scotland's most famous and most photographed castles. There are a number of islands in the loch including Innishail, which is the burial island of the Dukes of Argyll. Inveraray Castle, the seat of the Dukes of Argyll, is at the head of Loch Fyne, 17 miles to the south. There are many other scenic destinations easily reached from Lochawe and there is a small airport at Connel - six miles from Oban. A seaplane service runs from Glasgow to Oban and often lands in Lochawe.

There is spectacular hill walking, climbing and mountaineering in the area with skiing at Glencoe. The numerous lochs and rivers provide both salmon and trout fishing and the opportunity for boating and water sports. There is also a 9 hole gold course nearby.

Loch Awe has a small railway station within walking distance of the house on the Glasgow/Edinburgh to Oban line. It provides frequent commuting for the business and social traveller. A sleeper train also operates from Fort William to London. Glasgow International airport is approximately a 90 minutes drive.There is also a conveniently placed bus stop directly behind the house providing excellent transport links to Dalmally, Oban, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee, Aberdeen, Fort William and beyond. The village has a shop/ post office, village hall and a beautiful church. Dalmally is slightly larger and has a primary school, doctor's surgery, pharmacy, village store and other amenities. There is also the Glenorchy Hotel which has a fine dining restaurant and casual bar with pool table, both serving local cuisine. Oban has a full range of shops and supermarkets, primary and secondary schooling and professional services. Oban is the ferry terminal to the Western Isles and a base for exciting west coast sailing.

Travel Directions
From Glasgow take the A82 Loch Lomond road north to Crianlarich. From Crianlarich take the A82 west to Tyndrum and fork left on the A85 following the signs to Oban. Lochawe is about 14 miles beyond Tyndrum (and 4 miles beyond the centre of Dalmally). Tradewinds is located on the left hand side straight after St Conans Kirk. Once entering the private road keep to the left and the property is the first on the right hand side."
