Description
Darngaber enjoys a beautiful location with uninterrupted open views over the beautiful surrounding countryside. Its grounds extend to approximately 4.5 acres and are split into a substantial paddock, woodland garden and landscaped gardens around the house. To the east side of the property there are substantial outbuildings which have been converted into state of the art offices with gymnasium/store and integral garage. Also within the grounds of Darngaber are two former stable blocks (both built by Saltire Stables) which have been converted into a successful cattery business which is licensed for 40 cats and has been operating for seven years. The cattery buildings could, however, easily be re-established as stables.
The picturesque village of Glassford has a population of approximately 500 people and includes a 19th century parish church and the remains of a 17th century church, both of which are Category B listed. The local primary school is Glassford Primary and the secondary school is Strathaven Academy. The historic market town of Strathaven is approximately 2.5 miles from Darngaber and has a wide range of local shopping, schooling, transport and sporting facilities including Strathaven Rugby Club, Golf Club and Tennis Club. Private schooling is available at Hamilton College.
Darngaber is easily accessible to both Glasgow & Edinburgh with excellent travel links via the newly upgraded M74.
