Along the rear drive a public bridleway provides access to the moor from the property as well as one neighbouring property. A connecting footpath leads from the bridleway across the eastern part of the grounds down towards the village. The gardens are mainly to the front and side of the manor with large gravel terrace in front of the house with a small courtyard garden to one side. The main formal grounds include sweeping lawns and a leat or stream which feeds a large pond and flows over a cascade providing an attractive water feature. There are delightful areas of rhododendrons which are clearly very old being nearly as high as the house as well as azaleas and camellias, large areas of spring bulbs and a fine assortment of mature trees including Monterey Pine, Copper Beech, Oak and Ash as well as Cedar of Lebanon. To one part of the gardens there is a Victorian folly/summerhouse, of stone and slate construction with a slate roof and a fireplace making a delightful feature which could be used as an artist's studio or writing room. Throughout the gardens there are areas of woodland including some mature broadleaf woodland and also younger areas. Across the rear drive wrought iron gates and steps give access to a path leading up to a wooded area and walkway with paddocks on either side to an orchard and to the WALLED GARDEN which extends to some half an acre including a greenhouse of 73'6 x 10'4 (approx) (22.4m x 3.15m).
