Wycke Court is a private enclave of superbly appointed properties that are each defined by an exceptional degree of spacious luxury, high quality fittings and enviable surroundings - all encompassed within a carefully considered and historically-aware setting with generous rear gardens. This professionally designed development is a perfect fusion of thoughtful architecture, state-of-the-art features and a great location.

One of the most appealing things about Wycke Court is that it benefits from all the charm and exclusivity of a private enclave, whilst being conveniently located for the mainstream necessities the bustling town of Maldon has to offer. Located on the outskirts of the town, just a mile from the traditional high street, Wycke Court is ideally located for residents to enjoy it's excellent range of amenities. Bars and cafés, restaurants and retailers, Maldon is a small town packed with conveniences. With its brand stores such as Mark & Spencer, high street banks and local supermarkets such as Tesco, everyday requirements are only a short journey away.

Maldon is an historic town on the Blackwater estuary that is well-known for its famous sea salt and well documented maritime past, it is home to some beautiful open spaces such as the Promenade Park and the riverside with its stunning estuary views. The town also holds a mid-week market and offers a superb variety of independent and chain restaurants that provide a fantastic range of vibrant eating options covering every culinary taste.

Wycke Court is set close to some of the regions most cherished countryside and within close proximity to the collection you will find leafy woodland walks, tranquil riversides and open parkland, all there to easily enjoy with family, friends and pets alike. Heybridge, one of the regions favourite water's edge villages, is local to the collection. The Chelmer and Blackwater Canal, which runs from Springfield Basin in Chelmsford, was historically built to transport coal and wood to Chelmsford and it meets the sea lock at Heybridge Basin. This basin is now a famous and picturesque setting that is used for pleasure boating, fishing and other leisure activities. Two locally-loved pubs sit alongside the lock; the 'Old Ship' and the 'Jolly Sailor', as does a tea room run by Wilkin & Sons of Tiptree.

Whether you like to exercise to the extreme or prefer to keep healthy at a calmer pace, there are plenty of opportunities locally for both adults and children to join in a range of leisure activities. Surrounded by a rich tapestry of public footpaths and popular cycle routes. Maldon is the perfect base for those who love an outdoor lifestyle. There is also a variety of gyms and health clubs nearby, including the Blackwater Leisure Centre which is less than two miles away from the development. For golfing enthusiasts, there is a fantastic variety of courses within easy reach, with highlights including Maldon Golf Club - just one mile away - and The Warren Golf and Country Club.

A MODERN VISION INSPIRED BY THE PAST

The allure of Wycke Court is undoubtedly the combination of modern, luxurious properties - finished to exceptionally high standards and its remarkable location, an exclusive and private setting right on the edge one of Essex's most prized and famous towns. However, whilst the collection is certainly 'of its time', the immediate charm and individuality of the development is unquestionably inspired from the past and the farm complex that originally stood on the site. From the outset of the planning process for Wycke Court a large amount of historic research and subsequent consideration was assigned to the design of the collection and it's landscaping, including the overall layout of the site, the architectural style of the homes within it and ultimately their visual impact on the area. During early design stages, heritage reports highlighted the earliest known record of buildings in the approximate location of the development, was a late 18th century map suggesting a cluster of structures - likely to have originally been outbuildings associated with Maldon Wycke - were located in the area during that period. In 1875, a far more detailed Ordnance Survey study, showcased a detailed complex of buildings in the exact area which were likely to have been a farmhouse, supporting barns, stockyards and an orchard. It was this Ordnance Survey plan that inspired the vision to sympathetically recreate the original stockyard and working farm buildings into a luxurious new selection of distinctive residential dwellings that not only breathed new life into the area - but also had a direct relationship with original footprint and historical character of the once agricultural setting.
