The Story

Rose Farm is a stunning Grade II Listed country house with charming original features at every turn, and set in the most idyllic beautiful grounds. "We were looking for somewhere which was old with some history and charm but which was also light and bright with lots of open space. Rose Farm was ideal, but it wasn't just the house it was its setting. At the front you are in the middle of a quiet village with an active community, a pretty church and village hall across the road and a community run shop. But once you are here, in our grounds, it is as though you are in the middle of beautiful countryside."

Setting The Scene

To the front the property is accessed via a double pedestrian gate from the village green past lawns with screening hedges featuring a mature flowering cherry tree and well stocked cottage borders. To the rear of the house is a generous raised sun terrace with room for "al fresco" dining with steps down to the large pond with picket fencing and decking. There is side access to the lane with expansive lawns leading down to a wildlife meadow with screening trees. With a well tended kitchen garden with vegetables and soft fruits. The long driveway is flanked by silver birch trees with a second area of lawns. Access to the woodland is via a five-bar wooden gate The Victorian brick and tile outbuildings are a particular feature: one provides an outside studio or games room; a workshop and with the remainder, some with electricity and large enough to provide two annexes or holiday lets, subject to the necessary planning permission. They create a courtyard area currently shared with the owner's chickens.

Take the right turn onto Wells Lane B1116 (sign posted to Fressingfield, Weybread and Metfield) Then take the right turn onto Shotford Road and then after the bridge turn left into Withersdale Road (B1123).
