Rhayader is a very popular with tourists, and has many independent stores, leisure centre and and just a couple miles out of the town in the famous Elan Valley Dams, which is a spectacular attraction for everybody.

The well known Victorian spa town of Llandrindod Wells (7.2 miles) is the nearest town. It offers local amenities which include supermarkets, pharmacy, hospital, post office, hotels, a number of restaurants, a primary school, leisure centre, golf course and the town lake offering children's play areas, lakeside restaurant and picnic areas. Other nearby towns include Knighton (14.4 Miles) and Rhayader (10 miles).
