Location

The land at Kilgarie Farm is situated on a south facing site, on the edge of Strathmore, in Angus. It lies just to the west of Edzell and to the north of Brechin. It is an area which is renowned for its high quality and fertile agricultural land.

The farm is easily accessible. The B966 at Inchbare connects with the A90 dual carriageway. Angus is one of Scotland's most productive farming counties, extending from Dundee to the south west to Montrose in the north east. There is a mart in Forfar and the area is well served with grain and potato merchants, agricultural dealers and contractors, and a successful local machinery ring.

DESCRIPTION
The land at Kilgarie Farm was acquired by the sellers in 2007. It has been farmed as part of a larger farming business. Previously the land had been grazed with significant quantities of slurry and farmyard manure being returned to the land. Latterly it has been in arable production, growing seed potatoes, spring barley, winter wheat and winter oil seed rape. All the land is scanned for vari-rate seeding and is thoroughly tested for soil nutrients and there are excellent levels of potassium, phosphorous and magnesium, and good PH levels (with copies of the report available on request). Extensive drainage works have also been undertaken. Typical yields are reported as:

This block of land lies to the east of the internal track, with the lower field abutting onto a public road.

Directions

From the A90 (Perth to Aberdeen dual carriageway) just to the north of Brechin, take the B966 signposted for Edzell. After about 1.5 miles, in Inchbare, turn left signposted Menmuir. After 1.8 miles the road turns sharply left and the turning into Kilgarie Farm will be seen on the right after a further 2 miles.

Alternatively from Edzell, at the War Memorial, turn onto Dunlappie Road, signposted Menmuir. Continue for 1.5 miles and at the T junction turn right. The turning into Kilgarie Farm will be seen on the right after 2 miles.
