VENDOR COMMENTS: We have lived at number 30 Fernleigh for nearly 23 years. It has always been a quiet and friendly street and was further improved when trees were planted over ten years ago. The alley ways were also gated, which means the avenue now has a cul-de-sac quality. We brought our children up here, and they benefited from having many green spaces within five minutes walk away. Highfield country park is a wonderful place for walking and the parks on Manor Road, Cringle Fields and Chapel Street all have playgrounds for young children. The Fallowfield Loop (shared walking and cycle path) is a few minutes away and connects Levenshulme to Chorlton one way, and to Debdale Park and reservoir the other. We are near the bus and train routes into Manchester and Stockport and great cafés such as Trove and the Buttery at POD.
The house has undergone significant changes since we bought it. We had a major overhaul to maximize space 4 years ago. The double sized loft room has a dormer window and modern en-suite shower room; and the family bathroom on the first floor was remodelled and updated with a new modern suite. The house now has patio doors in the back reception room and the kitchen; as well as an opening between the two rooms which allows light to flood in. The garden has many mature plants which make it a secluded and private space, and further extends the living space by adding an outdoor room.
