Full description

A charming, three-bedroom apartment with a private, west-facing balcony, separate kitchen and spacious living room.

Located on a quiet estate just off the Barnsbury Road and minutes on foot from Upper Street, this is a brilliant urban pad, perfect for anyone looking to live in the heart of Islington.

Brickworks Says: - Copenhagen House sits opposite Barnard Park in neighbouring Barnsbury, so you will understand when we say that one of our favourite things about the flat is the fabulous location. You can shoot down to Upper Street with ease, or stroll to Regent's Canal and be in Kings Cross in no time it's just a ridiculously good spot.

The flat itself is lovely too. The owners have done lots of cosmetic work over the years, including installing a new kitchen and bathroom. This means that the whole space feels well cared for and much-loved. The fact that it is on the second floor and isn't surrounded by other buildings means that the light is great too - there is a genuine sense of breathing space.

The Owners Say: - We love the amazing location, close to the bars and shops of Upper Street, local pubs like The Albion, the canal walks and the proximity to transport links at Angel and Kings Cross.

The flat is light and spacious with friendly neighbours, and the balcony is an added bonus.

Points To Consider: - The Barnsbury Estate is a collection of low-rise buildings in N1 - some privately owned and some still under the control of Islington Council.

The properties are maintained by Newlon Housing Association, who have an excellent reputation.

Council tax band C - £96 pcm; leasehold 94 years left remaining; service charge £101.56 pcm and ground rent £10 pa.

The flat has two large double bedrooms. The third, however, is most definitely a box room, although it has successfully been rented out as a single room in the past.

Brickworks Loves: - Sunday: a local institution. Open from dawn to dusk, this fabulous cafe just around the corner serves up delicious food to all and sundry any day of the week. Supine queues form (on Sunday itself) round the block, proving just how popular and totally delicious it is!

The Pig and Butcher: there are loads of brilliant pubs nearby, but this is probably our favourite. With impeccably sourced produce and a fantastic kitchen; the food they serve up is top-notch. And as the name suggests, meat-lovers are particularly well-catered for.

The Gate: in contrast to the above, one of the first dedicated vegetarian and vegan restaurants in the UK, The Gate has always had a good reputation. Drawing on the rich culinary heritage of the owners, they consistently challenge peoples expectations of how downright delicious vegetarian food can be.

Thornhill Square: one of the most special things about the area is the numerous small parks and squares. They are an integral part of Barnsbury's flavour and heritage and a huge part of the appeal. Thornhill Square, a hop and skip away, is simply picture perfect in the Spring, and it offers a welcome focal point on the morning run, or a handy spot to let the dog off the lead.

Granary Square: with the investment pouring into Kings Cross, the area has changed radically over recent years. Granary Square, only a short stroll down the banks of Regent's Canal, has become a cultural beacon and is a real testament to that improvement, housing the new University of the Arts building, as well as numerous fabulous shops and eateries.
