I LOVE my home. This was going to be our ‘forever home’ but new opportunities have opened up to us, so onwards and upwards.
It has been a long hard slog with a lot of blood sweat and tears shed getting the house to how we like it. It’s had a complete renovation. New ceilings & floors, re-plumbing and re-wiring throughout, landscaping of the garden and recent new roof to the balcony.
My favourite part of the house has to be the garden. I will miss this place the most. It is so very peaceful and relaxing, all you can hear are the birds and the leaves in the trees rustling. The garden room was built so that we could continue to enjoy the garden during the winter month and when it’s wet outside. We enjoy lazy breakfasts in here of a weekend. During the summer months we enjoy eating alfresco, surrounded by the gorgeous smell of the trees and flowers. The garden is such a great entertaining space. If I was retired, I would be happy to spend most of my time here reading a good book or on Ebay. Summer evenings before bed it’s nice to sit on the balcony with a drink and gaze at the stars it’s also a good place to watch a good thunder and lightning storm, if you are brave enough.
The best part of the house for my husband on the other hand is the kitchen. He loves the ultra-modern feel of it and the gadgets he has bought for it.


Location
The property is within a 5 minute walk to the sea front alongside a very pretty tree lined pathway for walking, running, cycling and dog walking which runs alongside the canal. You can follow this path all the way into Hythe Town Centre with all its amenities which include Waitrose, Sainsbury, Iceland, Lidl, many boutique shops, tea rooms, coffee houses including Costa Coffee, bars, restaurants, hair and beauty salons, barbers, sports facilities which include a swimming pool, tennis, cricket, two football grounds, bowls, canoeing, skate park and Sene Valley Golf Course. Continue following the path along the canal where you can sit and watch the world go by, feed the ducks and swans or go for a boat ride. Pass the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch light steam railway, which makes a fun day out, continue down the tree lined path for a further 30-45 minutes and pass some of the wild residents that you can see of Port Lympne zoo.
Along the sea front is the long stretching seaside promenade, here you can find runners, walkers, cyclists. This vast promenade commences at Folkestone beach close to the busy town centre with its high speed railway into London and ends at The Hythe Bay Seafood Restaurant. The promenade is so very clean and exceptionally well kept (no graffiti in sight) through the whole expanse. From Folkestone we have the Leas Hall (with its many concerts and gigs), Lower Leas Coastal Park and amphitheatre with the most beautiful setting looking out to sea and down to the beach. Very green area summer for families with picnics and BBQs with plenty of parking. Walking on through Sandgate just off the promenade is the High Street with boutique shops, antique shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Walking filled with trees and walkways. A very popular spot in the on along the promenade we get to Seabrook with an Ice cream snack bar with further parking. Continuing onto Hythe we pass Hythe Imperial Hotel and Golf Course, on to Hythe public indoor swimming pool.

Local Area
History and tranquillity combine to make one of Kent’s most attractive seaside towns. Hythe is a small coastal market town on the edge of Romney Marsh, on the south coast of Kent. The town has medieval and Georgian buildings, as well as a Saxon/Norman church on the hill and a seafront promenade. The Royal Military Canal runs through the centre of Hythe which offers a variety of outdoor activities. The town offers a range of shops, bars and restaurants and South Road offers access to a large playing fields and local swimming pool.
