Designed in 1766, Lowther model village was based on designs by world famous Robert Adam, and was built in the 1770s, reputedly when the original village was moved in order to improve the view from the new Lowther Castle. Many important architectural leanings were utilised, to create this wonderful, now Grade 2* listed village, within the Lake District National Park and the grounds of Lowther and which is in itself, recognised as a conservation area.
