Full description

Tenure: Freehold

Chalfont House is one of a small number of fine houses built almost fifteen years ago within the established and wooded grounds of the adjoining Gilston Park Manor, a significant stone country mansion. The house has benefitted from recent modernisation including extensive investment in technology and a new first class bespoke kitchen/breakfast room with a central island unit, Miele appliances, instant hot water tap, waste disposal unit, Ceasar stone work surfaces, plumbing for an American style fridge/freezer, Amtico flooring and a breakfast area. There are a total of six bedrooms. The master bedroom has been recently redecorated and has some of the best views in the house, a wall mounted TV, a dressing room and an en suite Villeroy & Boch bath and shower room. One of the childrens rooms has a fitted castellated bed with steps on one side and a slide on the other. On the second floor, a bedroom has been converted into a sitting room and office, there is also a cinema room with drop down screen and projector. The house has been redecorated, the bath and shower rooms have been replaced and high quality flooring fitted.

Outside, the property is approached through security gates to a gravel driveway which provides generous parking and leads to three garages, one currently being used as a gym. The grounds are well established and easily maintained, laid to lawn with an extensive terrace, shrubs and maturing trees. The grounds extend to about one acre.

Agents Note: There is Broadband throughout the house and grounds, CAT5 cabling, a central entertainment hub linking to every TV and Sonos streaming to five rooms and to the garden.

This is an excellent area for commuting, with access to a mainline station at Harlow (about 3 miles) and both the A10 and M11 are within about a ten minute drive.
Directions From Hertford, the A10 and the west, proceed in an easterly direction on the A14 and on the outskirts of Harlow you will reach a roundabout and here go straight on, past the Dusty Miller public house and follow this country lane into Gilston. On a gentle right hand bend, you will see a pub immediately in front of you, turn immediately left before the pub and follow the road for about half a mile into open countryside. Turn left into a small lane signposted to Gilston Park and follow this short stretch of road to a T junction and here turn right then immediately left, in front of the gates to Gilston Park.

From Bishops Stortford proceed through Sawbridgeworth, pass The Bell public house and after about 600m turn right signposted to High Wych. Follow the road through to Gilston, turn immediately right after the pub on the right hand side, then follow the directions as above.
