Full description

This wonderful three-bedroom house, laid out over three floors, has been lovingly and thoughtfully refurbished over a number of years by the current owners. The result is a super-stylish and genuinely adaptable home that shines out from the norm.

Found on the cusp of East London, where Dalston and Stoke Newington merge, the location could scarcely be beaten for anyone looking to move into this effervescent and ever-evolving part of the city.

Brickworks Says - Oh, how we LOVE this space. The owner has the most amazing creative eye, so every detail has been carefully considered and beautifully realised. And its not merely pretty either, it is enormously practical too.

From the brilliant shower room, which has been fashioned out of an old storage cupboard on the first floor, to the small, walk-in wardrobe in the main bedroom, you can feel the love that has gone into making this a gorgeous yet grounded, family home.

The Owners Say - We will be very sorry to leave this house and our street. We have had a very happy five years here and it has seen us through some major life events!

The house has suited us down to the ground. And because it was originally purpose-built for families, it has a practical and easy layout so we've even had enough space for a studio/office. The downstairs kitchen-diner is great for entertaining in the winter and in summer everyone decamps onto the big balcony upstairs, just off the living room.

The area too is just brilliant. For us it has the best of all worlds: it is perfectly positioned for the buzz and convenience of Dalston, combined with the slightly more laid back feeling and open spaces of Stoke Newington with Clissold Park. We have also made some really good friends here, which is why we are hoping to stay local and move just around the corner!

Points To Consider - While ex-local authority property might not be everyone's cup of tea, this one really does make sense. You get substantially more square footage than a comparably-priced period property, plus you get outside space to boot. It is also likely to have more natural light and storage space than anything else you will find locally within budget.

Brickworks Loves - Hub Clothing: with dedicated stores for both him and her, any fabulous fashionista will find it impossible to walk past without dropping in. The staff are lovely too - not a pretension in sight.

LAtelier: this handsome cafe is also a home store. Just round the corner, it is perfectly positioned for a hangover pastry and coffee, any day of the week. Plus, they have extended their hours, and now serve evening meals too!

The Arcola Theatre: make the most of Dalston's cultural canvas by visiting the renowned, community-focused theatre, right around the corner. Or the bar of course, which is equally worth a trip.

Fed by Water: this superb pizza place focuses (but not exclusively) on Vegan and Vegetarian food, but the real secret is the water purification process which goes into all its cooking. This might sound gimmicky or pretentious, but we cannot doubt the owners commitment and conscientious approach. The result is possibly the best pizza in London - it is stupendously good.

About Brickworks - Brickworks is an independent company committed to an intelligent and ethical approach to estate agency. We were founded on one guiding principle: to bring positive and significant change to the way people buy and sell a home.

The Legal Stuff - Whilst we endeavour to maintain accurate photographs, floor plans and descriptions, these are intended as a guide and purchasers must satisfy themselves by personal inspection.
