Whenever you walk through any city, especially down the high street; look up - you will almost always be amazed by the striking architecture found above the colourful shop fronts. Mitre House is a fantastic example of this, built in the Art Deco era, it has the linear brickwork and geometric balconies favoured at the time, and having undergone full refurbishment in recent years, entering the communal lobby is akin to arriving at a five star hotel. A tall steel lift, or alternatively, wide stone steps, take you to the fifth floor, past two sets of secure doors, and the carpeted corridor leads you to the right where your door is clearly marked.


Once inside it is immediately clear that this is a stunning, contemporary apartment. Oak floors flow along the hallway to the open plan living room and kitchen to the left, and this has a sleek finish with olive grey and cream units topped with practical surfaces, and into these the square sink and draining grooves have been seamlessly cut in.
