Full description

Nestled in the picturesque Warwickshire village of Rowington, sits Clematis Cottage. A large four bedroom residence on a generous plot with stables, paddock, garaging, orchard and formal gardens.

We first noticed Clematis Cottage whilst walking through the countryside from Lapworth to Shrewley. From the top of a hill we saw the pretty house and the surrounding gardens and thought what a beautiful place it would be to live. Having now spent time inside the home our expectations have been exceeded. Clematis Cottage is a warm and welcoming home, full of interest and character.

When you park up on the gravel driveway the beauty of the garden reveals itself. The current owners have created an idyllic cottage garden that has private places to relax, large areas to play and a paddock and stabling for horses. The garaging is great storage or could, with relevant planning, be converted into something more substantial. Walk along the winding path and the size of Clematis Cottage comes into view. It is a large home, perfect as it is, or could be developed into something bigger.

Head inside the cottage through the back door (nobody uses the front door in the country), take your shoes and coat off and leave in the big utility room, step over the dog and take in the country chic feel of the bespoke cabinetry and the light filled room. You then come to the heart of the home; the kitchen. This is a proper country kitchen with obligatory Rayburn, large dining table, stunning kitchen and views across the garden. This is a quintessential country kitchen where the whole family can be together while food is prepared and family life happens.

Through to the living areas you find a cosy sitting room with a roaring log burner, bright conservatory opening out to the garden, a formal dining room and a study. There is also a cloakroom and a WC. The reception rooms are beautifully laid out but they could very easily be re-configured to suit a new family. The current owners have had plans drawn up to extend the downstairs, which would make the house much bigger and could be a very exciting project.

Upstairs are four bedrooms, a shower room and a bathroom. There are beautiful views from every room, our favourite is the countryside vista you look out to when lying in the bath.

We think this is one of the loveliest homes we have been asked to sell and we look forward to discussing it with the lucky new owners. For more information visit or call us to arrange a viewing.
