It is tucked away in Brunswick Town, and was converted 9 years ago from the rear section of The Lansdowne Hotel. There is nothing to link it to its Regency neighbours however, as it oozes contemporary cool, with 21st Century design, open plan living, sleek lines, and modern materials. It also boasts two double bedrooms, a private parking space, and is less than a minute from Hove’s clean beaches and Lawns. Brighton Station is also an easy walk, so it would happily suit professional sharers, commuters, and families alike.

Why you’ll like it:

With urban warehouse style facades, this quiet mews of townhouses stand out from their ornate Victorian neighbours, but have their own air of cool. This one sits mid terrace, in cream with slate grey framed windows and front door, and has a space to park directly outside. You enter onto a half landing, where there’s hooks for coats and space for shoes, and the stairs to the upper and lower floors are ahead. It is immediately clear that this is a highly stylised and individual house, with double height ceilings due to the gallery floor, complete with glass balustrades.

Plush grey carpets, and black baroque wallpaper leads you down the open staircase to the lower floor, where you’ll find the generous living room. It has oak floors and a full wall of built in storage - a luxury in newly built houses it seems - and has a wall mounted gas fire to warm the space in the cooler months, but also completes the polished look. Natural light pours in through the well created by the gallery floor, but this also feels like a homely space, perfect for snuggling up on large comfortable sofas with a movie.

The open plan kitchen and dining room is on the first floor and is wonderfully light due to three tall south facing windows. Below these is the dining area and with space to easily seat eight. The kitchen has a central island in sparkling white granite, into which the De Dietrich induction hob, and Bosch oven are integrated. Another granite unit has the sink inlaid and an integrated dishwasher below, and there’s a wall of Eastern style sliding storage for kitchenware, utensils and a larder. The washing machine is tucked away in a deep cupboard for storage. Impressive and stylish, with monochrome feature walls, and wooden floors, this is the perfect space for sophisticated entertaining.

A further flight of stairs takes you to the upper floor where the double bedrooms are peacefully located. These are both good doubles; the master having space for a super king size bed, as well as two white gloss built in wardrobes, and a large west facing window with Juliet balcony. The en suite bathroom has an angular white bath suite, with urban concrete tiles on the walls, and subtle lighting for relaxed bathing. Bedroom two is next door, and although it is slightly smaller, it still fits a king size bed, and also has built in wardrobes. Another bathroom is conveniently next door, so it feels like an en suite, and is in the same sleek style, but with a tall shower cubicle rather than a tub.

Bear in mind:

Although the house doesn’t have any outside space of its own, the beach and lawns are less than a  minute away for sunbathing, picnics and barbecues.
