Location: Fretherne is a hamlet, on a bend in the River Severn and close to Saul and Frampton on Severn, which lies around 15 miles south west of Cheltenham, around 9 miles south west of Gloucester and around 8 miles west of Stroud. The beautiful local church [St Mary the Virgin] is known as Gloucestershire's mini cathedral and dates back around 700 years. The Gloucester and Sharpness Canal lies to the west.
