Why you’ll like it:

Cannon Place rises up from the sea between two of the grandest hotels on the seafront. Whilst much of the architecture here is industrial, several terraces of Victorian houses remain, surrounding the lesser known Clarence and Russell Squares. This house has a corner plot, and its exterior has recently been repainted so it is fresh and smart in cream with glossy black railings surrounding the ground floor and then down the stone steps to the apartment’s own entrance.

The front door opens to a wide hallway with white walls and wooden floors which flow into the living room at the far end. First on the right however, is the master bedroom. This is double aspect, and while it is lower ground floor, the light can still filter in and the exterior walls, painted brilliant white, reflect this. This room is of graceful proportions so it can happily fit a king size bed as well as two wardrobes without compromising on floor space.

Further along the hall, past a deep cupboard housing a tumble dryer, is the bathroom which has a contemporary feel with a new white suite, glossy white wall tiles, and an iridescent mosaic border in the colours of the sea. It is an internal room, but is is well ventilated and has soothing low lighting for relaxed bathing. There is also a rainfall shower over the bath, and a shiny heated rail for you fluffy towels.

Going through to the living room, a large picture window looks out to the inner courtyard patio which has also been freshly redecorated, and could be made very pretty with colourful pots and blooms to improve the view. There is space to sit out there too, which would be wonderfully tranquil after a long day on the busy beach. You can dine in the living room too, as relaxing on comfortable sofas, and the kitchen is conveniently next door through a second door. This is galley in style with white modern units topped with practical dark work surfaces to complement the slate grey floor. The tall fridge freezer and washing machine are freestanding, but the slimline dishwasher, oven and gas hob are integrated. A door leads from here to the patio which becomes an extension of the room during the warmer months.

Bedroom two is at the far end of the flat, quietly tucked away, and this is another sizable double, making it perfect for sharers.

Bear in mind:

There is a waiting list for this parking zone, and parking is limited in this area, but with so many excellent transport links, and the city so easily accessible on foot, you may choose to be car free.
