Tongdean is a highly sought after area to live in within the city; characterised by impressive, substantial and individual homes, surrounded by luscious greenery. This house is one of the later builds, in a vernacular revival style with a pitched roof, a tiled gable, and a prominent red brick facade; heavily glazed to take full advantage of its southerly orientation.  It is set well back from the road by a driveway to fit several cars, and you approach up some central, wide stone steps, and into the entrance porch which is perfect for hanging coats and storing shoes.
