"We bought Swans Rest in 2011 after searching high and low for a forever home," says the current owner, "we even looked as far as Spain and Rome," he continues. It is easy to see how they were attracted to Swans Rest, it is peaceful and charming.
"When we bought the property, it was 1/3 built, we agreed a price with the builder at the time and then changed the plans and specifications to create an ideal home, which included importing 20 tons of soil to raise the flower beds and also planted 48 Yew Trees that were approximately 18-20ft each," he explains.
Burford is the gateway to the Cotswolds one of England's prettiest medieval towns with beautiful Cotswold architecture, shops, pubs, galleries and one of the top twenty churches in the country. "It is a true chocolate box environment," says the owners.
"My favourite room is the lounge, but my wife would probably say the kitchen or her home office, either way the house really is a one-off," he explains. This is because the family designed the property so that if needed, the house could cater for an elderly relative, as the ground floor has everything you could need.
There are two gardens; a side and rear garden, and both enjoy the sun at some stage of the day. "It was designed to be used and celebrated by family and friends," he explains.
"We are moving due to a relocation, and my wife and I are truly heartbroken to have to leave. It has been a wonderful home and we are very lucky to have spent time here," he concludes.
